Masaryk Days 2026

The seventh annual Masaryk Days will feature the theme Safety in a Dangerous World, which raises questions about protection, resilience, and the values on which a free society is based.

On the first day of the program, this theme will be anchored historically by the opening of an exhibition of photographs by Ladislav Sitenský of the 312th and 311 Squadron in Backlight by Ladislav Sitenský at the Technical Museum in Brno, accompanied by commentary from historian Vladimír Černý, a personal perspective from the photographer's granddaughter Adéla Kándlová, and a presentation by Nicholas Winton Jr. with personal memories of his famous father.

The program for the first day of Masaryk Days is intended for invited guests.

*The exhibition 312th and 311th Squadrons in Ladislav Sitenský's Backlight is being held thanks to the cooperation of Masaryk University, the Technical Museum in Brno, and Ladislav Sitenský's family, represented by his granddaughter Adéla Kándlová. The exhibition will be on display at the Technical Museum in Brno from March 4 to June 30, 2026.

The second day of Masaryk Days, held at the university on Komenského náměstí, will feature an interdisciplinary debate between Masaryk University experts Zinaida Bechná and Antonín Kučera, together with guests Tomáš Klvaňa, Alexander Duleba, and Šimon Pánek, expanded to include the international perspective of distinguished guest Nicholas Winton Jr. from Great Britain, which will focus on what security means today, not only militarily and geopolitically, but also in terms of human dignity, stability, and social responsibility.
