Another Success of Masaryk University in the field of Internationalization
The selection results of the second Call for Proposals to be funded from Tempus IV were announced on 30 October 2009. 69 proposals have been recommended for funding from the Tempus grant, with six of them involving a Czech institution. Out of these six projects, half of them will be handled by Masaryk University.
The following Masaryk University projects were approved: Project Corinthiam – Central Offices Responsible for the INTegration at Home of Internationalisation as Assurance of quality in the Middle East region (which the Office for International Studies will be responsible for), GOMES – Governance and Management Reform in Higher Education in Serbia, handled by the University Rectorate and finally EDU Quality – Education for Equal Opportunities at Croatian Universities, which will be coordinated by the Teiresias, Support Centre for Students with Special Needs. The three other submitted projects – CAMIR (OIS), Meda-Access (Teiresiás) and Transteel (Faculty of Economics) – were not recommended for funding.
The approval of the three above mentioned projects, along with other, currently running ones – GASRIU – Gestion et Administration de Services de Relations Internationales Universitaires (OIS), PERSIUS – Plan to Establish Research-Science-Enterprise oriented Universities for the benefit of Society (CTT) a Curricula Reformation and Harmonisatiion in the field of Biomedical Engineering (RECETOX) – proves the exquisite reputation of the University in terms of its international activities
Tempus is the European Union’s Programme which supports the modernisation of higher education in the Partner Countries of Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Western Balkans and the Mediterranean region, mainly through university cooperation projects.
It also aims to promote voluntary convergence of Partner Country higher education systems with EU developments in the field of higher education such as the Lisbon agenda and the Bologna process. In addition to institutional cooperation Tempus also promotes a "people to people" approach.
