Theatrical MUNIfest

Theatrical MUNIfest is a one-day festival of student theatres taking place on May 12th, 2022 on the campus of the Faculty of Arts. The festival will present performances by a total of six student associations. One of the participants will be Filosofické divadlo (Philosophical Theatre), which has a long tradition of bringing philosophy topics to a wider, non-philosophical audience. Also performing will be SveTr (Svenska Teatr) from the Institute of Germanic, Nordic and Dutch studies, who will convey the beauty of swedish language spoken on stage (with subtitles, of course!). The Gypsywood Players will then present the daily hardships of Renaissance pilgrims with a production of Canterbury Tales in English. The question of whether our roles are played only on stage will be raised by the Divadlo Petra Cendelína (Theatre of Petr Cendelín). Colleagues from the Faculty of Law, Fakultní divadelní společnost (Faculty Theatre Society), will take our stage to 1918 and give an insight into the legislative process that gave rise to the first Czech laws. And last but certainly not least, Yosakoi Hanamaru, from Japanese Studies, will complement the program with a dance performance.
