Transition – Design – Education

Climate change, widening gap between rich and poor, aging population, planet devastation. How can we as designers think about the future socio-technological arrangements? And how do we embrace designing outside of the flawed system? These and other questions will be answered at the international conference Transition – Design – Education, which brings a new, future-oriented Transition Design approach to the Czech environment.

The main conference day with keynotes is Friday May 6. You can look forward to the founder of the Transition Design approach Terry Irwin, the leader of research-through-design studio Imaginaries Lab Dan Lockton and other Transition Design scholars and educators. On Saturday May 7, workshops will be held, focusing on design imagination and the differences between traditional and transition design postures.

The conference is organized thanks to the project Transition Design: A New Challenge for Service and Interaction Design Education (EEA-CZ-ICP-2-019) with support from the EEA and Norway Grants. Organizers: KISK FF MU, University of Oslo.
