Instructions for foreign students on how to currently enter the Czech Republic
The Government Decree no. 443 defining the rules for the Czech citizens and foreigners entering the territory of the Czech Republic approved on April 23, 2020, has extended the possibilities for entry of the EU citizens (as well as the Schengen area and United Kingdom citizens) to the Czech Republic, effective from April 27, 2020, to study purposes under the following conditions:
- Entry of students for the purpose of a high school and university exam on the Czech territory up to 24 hours (You wil need printed University Confirmation of participation in the exam for the purpose of entry on the territory of the Czech Republic, you may find it in Information system MU newly included in the application Declaration of Honor on the Absence of COVID-19 Symptoms)
- Entry of the EU citizens who previously resided in the Czech Republic and already go to school in the Czech Republic (a return to the Czech Republic, not a so-called first-entry) and entry of third-country citizens, who already hold permanent or temporary residence in the Czech Republic
- Entry of the EU citizens for the purpose of study at university on the Czech territory without previous stay or study on the territory of the Czech Republic exceeding 72 hours (new students)
- Entry of the cross-border pupils and students from the neighboring countries who study on the territory of the Czech Republic (children attending kindergartens in the Czech Republic are included in this category)
Czech Government imposed an obligation on all foreigners entering the Czech Republic to notify in advance the date and manner of entry to the Czech Republic.

Given the dynamic development of the situation we kindly ask all international students to consult regularly the pages of the Ministry of Interior dedicated to the pandemic and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Also, don't forget to follow the development of the regulations in your home country.
Canteens still operate except for Academic restaurant on campus
MU canteens still operate for students and employees in compliance with governmental measures, however canteens are closed to the public. One exception is the Academic restaurant located in Campus Square that is closed from 23 October until 3 November.
Government has limited free movement of people, shops and services are closed till 3 November
The Czech government has announced new measures in response to epidemical situation in the Czech Republic. The new measures will be effective from Thursday 22 October and will be in place until Tuesday 3 November 2020.
Government orders Czech students to move out of dormitories, international students are allowed to stay
The government of the Czech Republic has decided that Czech students have to move out of dormitories except for students in medical programmes. This restriction does not apply to international students, who can stay in the dormitories.
Beginning Monday, MU will be on red alert
In light of the current epidemiological situation and the government’s declaring a red state of alert in the South Moravia Region, the MU Crisis Board has decided to move to the red phase of the university traffic-light system as of 12 October.
