The project "Development of Methodology for Assessment of Areas of Urban and Garden Production" aims to enlarge the knowledge base about the possibilities of sustainable urban planning and to prepare an innovative tool for evaluating social, economic, and environmental benefits of areas of urban and garden production. The importance of these areas for an urban agglomeration has been highlighted by many international surveys. However, a suitable methodological tool for governmental, municipal, non-profit, and private sector has not been developed yet in the Czech Republic. The methodology will enable stakeholders to effectively evaluate a variety of benefits and thus help to make informed decisions. The project’s outputs will contribute to a more sustainable urban planning, adaptation to the impacts of climate change, and to efficient public administration.
