The aim of the project is to establish a European alliance of progressive research centres and research-intensive universities conducting research in medical / life sciences fields and located in so called less performing countries that are committed to work actively towards closing research and innovation divide in health R&I. The Alliance shall concentrate efforts on transferring useful inspiration
from renowned research institutions and especially on learning from each other how to address peculiar problems in low performing Members States. The purpose is to raise value for participation in European consortia through identifying barriers and proposing progressive strategies in the field of institutional and national research policy and management (incl. evaluation of their feasibility). These strategies will cover suggestions for exploitation of the potential that provide synergies between ESIF and the Framework Programme, which will be coordinated with the health-related R&I managing authorities of the particular less performing Members States. The project should lay basis for the future operation of the Alliance (connection with the CEITEC MU initiative to propose a new CSA
topic for the HEALTH Work Programme 2018-2020) and possibly under FP9. Links of the Alliance with the existing European research networks and coordinated approach in order to have influence on the EU research policy will be covered. The Allliance4Life will co-operate with associated partners covering Managing Authorities in charge of research policy and research funding in the respective low performing Member States.
