Conditions for Applicability of the Ideational Approach in Social Policy Research (Conditions for Ideational Approach)

The aim of my contribution is to investigate the conditions for applicability of the ideational approach in explaining policy development. This approach understands policy development as a result of ideational power struggle amongst actors with non-marginal influence of contextual conditions. Due to its complex nature my research aims to develop a theoretical ground that will guide policy scholars in their decision to adopt the ideational approach.
