Description We attempted to carry out the serological analysis of skeletal material founded in an archaeological localiy near Poansko Břeclav. This burial ground is approximately 800-850 years old. The resarch aimed at evaluating the degree of reliability of paleoserological diagnoses. The total number 34 individuals were submitted to tests by the modified absorption inhibition technique. Blood group B was founded in two individual cases and there were no possibilities to confirm the type of the rest of the samples on the basis of bone tissues or teeth. In these cases it was impossible to identify if the individuals belong to blood group 0 or if the antigen in tissues was inactive. These results reflect the character of the sample and enviromnent in which the bones were buried. Some of the factors which could influence the investigation and potential reasons of biased results were outlined. Moreover, there were particular methodical approach and other opportunities of investigation at the paleoserologic field proposed.
