Description We present a case of invasive mycotic infection in 55 year old patient, with a fresh diagnosis of acute myelogenous leukaemia. During the post-chemotherapy pancytopenia phase, the patient was treated for febrile neutropenia, the focos of the infection was bacteraemia caused by Corynebacterium jeikeium, with a good response to the administered antibiotics. On the 20th day of treatment, a relapse of fevers occurred and Trichosporon asahii was detected in haemoculture. Invasive trichosporonosis was successfully treated with amphotericin B lipid complex.
