Description Anthropogenic climate change has been causing more intense extreme weather, accelerated melting of Arctic ice, rising sea levels and disturbances of ecosystems. It may already have been exceeded significant climate system tipping points and positive feedbacks will drive abrupt climate change during the 21st century. Scientists explore ways to avoid the shifting global climate in the hot state. One possibility is the active removal of carbon from the atmosphere and storing carbon in the soil in the form of charred biomass (biochar). This method also improves the quality of soil and prevents eutrophication, thus addresses and more global problems.
