| Description | The monograph presents and theoretically reflects the results of an extensive empirical research (MUNI/A/0885/2011), which a research team of the Department of Music at the Faculty of Education of Masaryk University conducted in Brno in 2012. The authors examines the attitudes of the students from the selected Czech universities to the art and popular music on the basis of their answers in the computer on-line questionnaire, which was used in combination with the listening test of selected musical styles and genres, which enabled besides the musical preferences to determine the extent to which respondents actually understand to these styles and genres, respectively assess the degree of their ability to identify them. Indirectly, the study determines the value orientation of respondents and, at the same time, makes the evaluation of music education at elementary and secondary schools. |
