Description Even in the Czech Republic German is a typical tertiary language that is usually learned after English as a second language. This language constellation requires a different methodological concept provided by the tertiary language didactics. The paper presents a research design using the method of video study to find out if, or to what extent the principles of tertiary language methodology in teaching German as a second language classes are reflected in the teaching and learning processes in the Czech primary schools.
