Description This paper deals with issues of younger schoolchildren s conceptions of health and illness (children aged 7-12). It focuses on primary prevention, its psychological and pedagogical approaches, principals and implementation into school curriculum. It is based on theoretical study of children s lay conceptions in education, on internal cognitive systems and constructivist approach in teaching-learning process. Children s conceptions of health, illness, prevention and health promotion has been found. Research findings of this study may be useful in didactic health education, especially in primary prevention in elementary school.
