Description The paper is focused on the history of municipal theatre in Brno in the years 1770-1792. At the end of the 18th century, in the period of late Enlightenment, basic principles upon which the municipal theatre of Brno has been established deeply changed. The directors J. H. Böhm, R. Waitzhofer, J. B. Bergobzoom and K. Wothe reflected and implemented all important reforms coming from Vienna and other centres of German theatre culture. Owing to the systematic effort of all four directors the municipal theatre of Brno integrated among the theatre institutions transforming from the Baroque stagione to the institution of national theatre.
