| Description | The City of Brno can be presented as multi-layer spatial phenomenon with its own space and spatiality that is a scenery of different social processes. We can identify Greater Brno Area with the edge of string of microregional nodes having strong economic, cultural, social, environmental and political relations to fringe, contact and compact segments of the city. Using technique of mental maps was very productive in comparative survey portraying also other cities – Znojmo and Retz. There is only limited number of case studies concerning religious issues in the Czech cities and presented survey on functioning parishes in Brno provides surprising spatiality. Also gender studies are not so frequent in the Czech geography in spite of sociology, e.g. The City of Brno master plan is not so friendly with children, women and seniors as our survey find out. |
