| Description | Gender studies have established a discourse against common university disciplines, including philology. This chapter gives a philological view on the problem. It begins with an example of philological-historical work. An old and unusual corpus of texts has been chosen with purpose. The reader dan then feel exposed to texts with unfamiliar meanings where linking is possible only through understanding distant languages instead of common ones. The next part of the study deals with gender in language and sexes in text, linguistic description of gender as a formal means of sentence structure (grammar), sex as a semantic feature (lexis), and deixis as a text structure tool. |
