Description The aim of this study was to analyse the most important parameters determinant quality of motion structure of the basic classical dance jump – grand jeté. Research sample was consists of 8 students of The Dance Conservatoire in Brno. Using the system Simi motion we performed a 3D kinematic analysis of the jump. On the basis of comparison of structure quality and measuring data of the grand jeté, we defined optimum values of relevant parameters determinant quality of the performance. The take-off speed should achieve about 2,4 m s-1, the optimum take-off angle is 28-30 degrees. The take-off leg should swing backward at the biginning of the flight phase with the minimum speed of 3,3 m s-1. If motorial abilities of dancers achieve the high level necessary for optimal performance of classical dance jump, there is possible certain variability of the dance jump structure.
