| Description | Current development of biological sciences clearly shows not only the rapid development of methods of phylogeny reconstruction (phylogenetics), but also their penetration into other areas. This applies particularly to methods based on Bayesian methodology and coalescent theory that make essential parts of many computer programmes designed for other than phylogenetic analysis (population genetics, ecology, morphometry, etc.). The textbook guides students through the subject starting with data types and sequences through the explanation of methodology and the demonstration of evolutionary models to a detailed interpretation of Bayesian phylogenetic analysis and its use.
