Description Manipulation with human gametes and embryos is fundamental task in human assisted reproduction proceeding in in vitro fertilization of an oocyte. Pregnancy outcome after in vitro fertilization is not satisfactory thus ways how to improve pregnancy outcome are sought. Monitoring of embryo’s energetic metabolism could uncover developmental difficulties thus predict faith of the embryo after implantation into a uterus. The subject of this contribution is a presentation of the potential of capillary electrophoresis coupled with contactless conductivity detection for the analysis of energetically important compounds, such as pyruvic acid and lactic acid, and the relationship between pregnancy outcome and energetic demands of the embryo.
