Description The study deals with landscape structure development based on land use changes in the cadastre Babí. The study outlines land use structural development between 1841 and 2010. The results are based on microstructural and macrostructural landscape research. The ascertained changes and trends in land use changes were interpreted on the basis of determining and explaining the main political, economic and social factors and social driving forces that caused them. Their interaction with natural conditions was also taken into account. The most significant changes were detected after 1945. After the Second World War, the cultural landscape was affected by the resettlement of the Germans. The main change was decrease of arable land, which was compensated for by increases in permanent grasslands and forests. The microstructure of the landscape was simplified between 1841 and 1985. We observed an number of patches (especially small areas of forest) after 1985 connected with increasing ecological stability in the cadastre Babí.
