| Description | Everyone of us ascribes various concepts (intentional action, knowledge, happiness, etc.) to other people in everyday social interactions. Even though philosophers in the past prepared instructions on how to ascribe these concepts, one question that remains is whether we adhere to these instructions. What if there is another factor? Experimental philosopher Joshua Knobe was trying to find answer to this question in Manhattan park and discovered so called "Knobe effect". In this paper I will present what the effect is and introduce experiments associated with it. I will focus on implications, that arise from it. And by the way, was Knobe really the first one, who discovered this mysterious factor? |
