Description Metabolic syndrome is most often observed as a significant risk factor of cardiometabolic risk when talking about the cardiometabolic syndrome. Relatively little attention is still dedicated to the metabolic syndrome and related diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Metabolic syndrome, like obesity, is yet a frequent observation in patients with gastroesophageal reflux and Barrett's esophagus, a potential risk of developing breast terrain esophagus.
