Description The Remilitarization of the Rhineland, which occurred on the 7th March 1936, can be described as “an unarmed conflict“, that didn’t grow into a military conflict. Although this act caused a great disturbance on the international scene and although the signatories of the Rhine pact started immediately diplomatic negotiations, the representatives of the signatory states didn’t come up with any adequate reaction. Occupation of the demilitarized zone Rhineland broke not only the Treaty of Versailles but also the Treaties of Locarno - that was the reason why proposals for contracting the “new Locarno” appeared in the following weeks. The aim of this paper is to give an image monitoring international developments from the position of Czechoslovakia and Poland.
