Description This study is part of a research which is dealing with reconstruction of whole virion structure of bacteriophage 812, attacking wide spectrum of clinical and commensal strains of pathogen Staphylococcus aureus, including those which are resistant to antibiotics. The concrete aim consists in detail characterization of putative hydrolase TmpE, which is part of the phage tail. The hydrolases due to their efficacy in disposal of bacteria cell walls have been applied in number of industrial and clinical fields as enzybiotics, the proteins killing pathogen agents. Thus, detail analysis could prove predicted function of TmpE protein and lead to development of protein-based product efficient against S.aureus.
