Description Before commencing their studies, every child has some ideas which they work with, adjust or completely change during classes at school and while doing homework in home environment. Changing these is a rather lengthy process, which is often helped not only by the student’s own experience, but mainly by the teacher’s teaching, aimed at “correcting” fallacious naive theories and eliminating misunderstandings. The presented report focuses on studying the teacher’s view on students’ naive theories and misunderstandings related to photosynthesis and plant respiration. The research was performed through a questionnaire survey among science teachers at Czech lower secondary schools. The questionnaire contains 12 items related to both teaching as well as investigation of naive theories and misunderstandings by Czech lower secondary school students. The research is focused on reflected identifies data in the adjustment of teaching the subject too.
