| Description | The textbook is divided into seven chapters with the aim to provide a comprehensive treatise of the fundamentals of linear functional analysis in order to assist the reader in his/her in-depth understanding of mathematical foundations needed for his subsequent specialized study in the application field of interest. One of the chapters deals with bases incl. the basics of frames which are a theoretical background for sparse representation of functions (signals). The text is supplemented by six appendices, where selected topics are treated in more detail and/or illustrated by some selected examples mostly arising in the signal processing. |
