| Description | In some patients with dyslipidemia is not possible to achieve target LDL-cholesterol level and optimal values of triglycerides and HDL-cholesterol using monotherapy with statins. In such patients combination of statins with ezetimibe or fenofibrate is reccomended. Ezetimibe can be added to statins therapy to achieve the target LDL-cholesterol, however, the combination is not yet available for general practitioners. Combination statins with fenofibrate may be prescribed without any limitation and this combination is recommended to achieve optimal triglycerides and/or HDL cholesterol levels; moreover fixed combination of simvastatin with fenofibrate is available. |
