| Description | Authors are describing prognostic and predictive factors of head and neck cancer, possibilities of forecast of treatment outcome and its influence on treatment decision and future treatment. Authors are dealing with prognostic factors in relation to patient, disease and molecular prognostic markers. Prognostic factors related to basic properties of tumor (primary localization, TNM classification, histology etc.) are influencing not only prognosis of treatment, but frequently also decision about way of treatment. Still the most important in practice used prognostic system is TNM classification. Predictive value of most used biomarkers sill was not established and they are in stage of preclinical evaluation. |
