Description In 1938 published in the first issue of the Revue Musicologia Vladimir Helfert text periodization of music history. Contribution to the logic of musical development, the concept of history was built on the basis of the immanent evolution of musical structuring. However, the interpretation of Czech contemporary music and the influence of Czech music to European affairs at Helfert often more significant influence of ethical criteria of aesthetic. It was necessary to construct the Czechoslovak musical history. In the fourth edition of Hudební rozhledy in 1951 published an article by Miroslav Barvík Design curriculum of music history at the Conservatory, he was due a prerequisite for the discussions held regarding the new party concept of music history. Like the party historiography and literary criticism, should be in positions of music history captivated history in favor of party propaganda, institutional paradigm in the application of the method of socialist realism. The aim of this paper is to present a professional public comparison of various "read" the history of music in the background cultural and social situation in Czechoslovakia in 1938 and 1948. We present the search for the ideal model of musical history based on "the development of social orders" in comparison with mýtotvorným concept of the First Republic, as also reflected in the construction of Vladimir Helfert.
