Description In this contribution I will compare Nordic teacher preparation on immigrant children education from the Czech perspective. Nordic countries are often given in the Czech context as an example of a good practice, Teacher Education isn´t any exception. The aim of this contribution is therefore to show and compare the current state of teacher education in the field of immigrant children education in the Nordic countries (focused on Norway, Sweden and Finland) and in the Czech Republic.Teachers have a strong power and responsibility in immigrant children integration. Immigrant children and also their parents are often in the first touch with major society through schools. Schools are the main aspect in integration into the society. It is therefore important that teachers fulfills their role well. It is not only about the work with the immigrant children but about the work in the heterogenic school class. Teacher´s role is to intermediate different culture to all children and form one culture in the class without any stereotypes and prejudice. Teacher education is therefore crutial. The decisive factor in implementing changes in practice (as well as by strategic documents) is a teacher, his personality, and especially professional quality. Therefore, the effective teacher´s education is indispensable prerequisite for the country's future competitiveness and prosperity of the entire society.
