| Description | The article demonstrates selected results of the geographic research aimed at acquiring evidences about the floodplain landscape in the early medieval period around the ancient Great Moravian power center located near-by the present village Mikulčice. The research focused on finding the territory elements, which could help to estimate the character of the former landscape structure. Old roads, conservative forest edges, filled ancient river arms and meanders and sand dunes were found from old and thematic maps and aerial photos. Their localization supports sample collection for dating representative objects. |
