Description Aim: The aim of this study was to analyse the effectiveness of educational activities on the level of knowledge and professional habits in paramedical healthcare professionals. Method: Multicentric observational descriptive study survey (pre-test a post-test) at 6 intensive care workplaces in the Czech Republic was implemented. Statistical analyses was performed with SPSS ver. 22.0.0.0 (ML-chi-square test, Wilcoxon test, McNemar test) on a significance level a = 0.05. Results: In total of 110 respondents working at the intensive care units 91.8% of women were involved in the study. Average age was 33 years; average length of professional career was 12 years. Statistically significant differences were found and verified in the level of respondent´s knowledge in relation to the type of workplace and type of undergraduate education before the educational activities (p < 0.01), respondents from anaesthesiology have demonstrated higher level of knowledge. Change in the knowledge of sorrorigens wounds definition after educational activities in the whole sample was also verified (p < 0.001). Conversely, declared practices in preventing sorrorigens wound before and after an educational activity did not differ. Conclusion: We have verified the positive effect of educational activities on the knowledge of the sample of paramedical staff in sorrorigens wounds. The study also showed a statistically significant difference in subjectively assessed knowledge of the respondents before and after educational activities (p = 0.036). And we have also confirmed changes in the perception of the significance of some preventive measures and the ability to identify sites which are potentially at risk of developing sorrorigens wounds.
