Description The flow reactor is suitable for the following types of reactions: Reactions of polar reagents, i.e. organic and inorganic molecules containing bonds e.g. C = O, C = N, C = S, C-O, C-N, C-S, P-halo, S-halogen, OH, NH, SH, etc., which extend at elevated temperature or reflux. In the reaction, it is preferable the use of non-polar than polar solvent, the MW absorption mainly occurs on polar bonds of reagents, and solvent is not overheating. The reaction may take place in the presence of a catalyst bed This consists of immobilized catalyst ion or complex ion of metal supported to a weakly acid cation exchange resin (crosslinked polyacrylate). A preferred cation is Ce (III) to activate the carbonyl group and the like, the Michael acceptor (e.g. methyl acrylate) and the similar electrophilic reagents for reaction with nucleophiles. Supported highly stable cation Cu (I) is suitable to catalyze the formation of the C-C, C-N, C-O, C-S bonds, and synthetic "Click" processes.
