Addictive Behavior of Full-time Students at Masaryk University and Options in its Prevention

Description They are presented the results of three research projects. The research was conducted using anonymous questionnaire studies on habit-forming substances, risk behavior based on so-called virtual addictions and their prevention in samples of full-time students at Masaryk University. The results of the first study showed that among nearly 10,000 respondents are the most frequent substance abuse alcohol, tobacco, black coffee, cannabinoids, to a lesser extent, hallucinogens, depressants and dance drugs. Contacts with the so-called hard drugs were mostly character isolated experiments. On academic board has been recorded activity by drug dealers. The second study looked at the issue of addictive behavior, it has obtained data from almost 2,500 respondents. Normally operated activities include work with computers, internet and mobile phone, which respondents use to surf the contents on the Web, reading e-mail, chatting, movement in social networks, phone calls and writing SMS messages. The prevalence of lifetime experience with soft slot machines was in a group of 30%, with 20% of hard slot machines. On the computer or game console were playing in the lives of 80% of respondents, more than 40% of the file you've ever bet. A third of the group bought a more expensive consumer goods that they were not necessarily needed, 5% have taken consumer credit. The third study mapped the activity and the level of drug prevention at MU were obtained responses from nearly 2,200 respondents. Virtually all addiction prevention met in high school, it was always done very formally. More than a fifth of the sample was approached MU addiction prevention. Preventive activities out of faculty were occurred infrequently. In terms of prevention are used mainly monologue lectures, their focus is mainly the issues of alcohol and nicotine, lack of continuity and orderliness.
