Description In addressing the problem, it was proved that crucial is possible condensation of sulfuric acid vapor which increased the adhesion of fly ash to construction materials of electrostatic filters. Normally the concentrations of sulfate sulfur should vary between the first few tenths of a weight percent, expressed in chemical analyzes obtained by X-ray fluorescence as SO3. When analyzing the "problematic" fly ash there was detected SO3 content several weight percent in ash and ash leachate reached in some cases the pH values below 3.0. This signalized the presence of a strong acid. At given the conditions in the flue gases vapor sulfur dioxide SO2 and trioxide SO3 may condense in the form of sulfuric acid. Contract 3103/0037/16.
