Description This paper analyzes crucial judgements of the Court of Justice of the European Union regarding communication of copyright works to the public, or new public as established by the Court of Justice, via the Internet, for the purposes of Directive 2001/29/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 May 2001 on the harmonization of certain aspects of copyright and related rights in the information society and for its interpretation. By this it summarizes approach of the Court of Justice to the issue, which is also reflected in the judgements of member states’ judicial institutions and in the national legislation. Based on this research this paper then foreshadows the way of CoJ’s future decision-making practice and to some extent it predicts its possible judgement in case C-160/15, GS Media including the impact of this possible decision on the information society
