| Description | The Honoré d’Urfé´s vast novel L’Astrée, masterpiece of the pastoral genre in France, is being presented to Czech readers through a latter adaptation called Nouvelle Astrée published in 1712 whose first translation into Czech makes a core of this book. Keeping things in proportion, La Nouvelle Astrée is compared to its prestigious model while making a topic of three studies : literary and historical, the other based on translatological hermeneutics, and, finally, of a critical and comparative essay on possible « modernizations » of myth about Arcadia, Astrée and Céladon. |
