| Description | Plasma protein-drug binding is an important parameter, which influence pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic properties of the drug. The strength of the binding is commonly described by a binding constant. Bound drug is protected from metabolism and transported by plasma proteins in the blood, but only free drug can provide pharmacological effect. Therefore these interactions are investigated during the early stages of drug development. It is necessary to create easily automated method with possibility of high-throughput screening assay to increase laboratory efficiency. |
