Description To summarize up to date knowledge of the uterine smooth muscle tumors of uncertain malignat potential and to define specific predictors of the clinical outcome and to recomend therapeutic guidelines as well as the follow-up regimen. Method: Overview study focused on stratification of the uterine smooth muscle tumors of uncertain malignant potential. Conclusion: Smooth muscle tumours of uncertain malignant potential (STUMP) are rare tumors. The histological diagnosis is mostly post-operative. The conclusion of histological analysis should predict the clinical outcome based on defined prognostic factors. The small sample size of all reported studies is the reason for highly individual therapeutic and follow-up regimen. Generaly the recurrence risk is low and clinical outcomes are favourable. As such, clinical expectant management does not seem to be unreasonable.
