| Description | The aim of this paper is to introduce the design of a planned research project focused on studying the effectiveness of group psychotherapy for patients with medically unexplained bodily symptoms (MUPS) under naturalistic conditions. The research project includes four lines: (1) an analysis of the theoretical background of and procedures applied in various psychotherapeutic approaches, with an emphasis on common factors; (2) an analysis of the practical experience of the psychotherapists working with patients with MUPS, (3) a qualitative analysis of the experience of patients who have undergone psychotherapy for MUPS, and (4) a quantitative assessment of the effectiveness and mediators of psychotherapy and in patients with MUPS. |
