| Description | Over the last 13 years a lot of grey brain matter was wrinkled, a lot of time was spent in the lab with test-tubes and spectrometers, a lot of black tea drunk, many sleepless nights spent at the computer, many journeys around the world were taken to present my work and the hardly predictable journey of scientific life brought me from Czech Republic to Finland and back. My story of chemistry of terpenoids starts by synthesis of analogues of juvenile hormones, insecticidal juvenoids, and their subsequent derivatization into application forms, juvenogens. This scientific chapter was followed by intriguing studies on drugs and drug-steroid conjugates, ultimately leading to applications of steroids and their derivatives in supramolecular chemistry with main focus on anion binding and development of self-assembled concave coordination structures and their self-organization into fine particles with potential pharmaceutical applications. The work presented has led to several registered inventions, and patent and grant applications. |
