Description The book deals with the reconstruction of the interior of the church of st. Peter and Paul in Jedovnice near Brno. He deals mainly with Jan Koblasa's participation in the modernization of the presbytery (altar space) of the church. The main part of the alteration of the altar space took place in the first half of the 1960s, and together with Koblasa, other artists, who now rank among the leading artists of their time, participated in it: Mikuláš Medek, Karel Nepraš and Josef Istler. However, Koblas' share is by far the largest. In spite of the fact that modern expression in the sacral space has increased significantly today, the arrangement of the presbytery is among the most valuable ones. It is exceptional not only by its nature but also by the specific time and place of its origin. It excels both in the context of Czech and European art and in the context of Koblas's work. With its content and used formal elements, the monastery presbytery belongs to the most remarkable examples of ars sacra in Europe. The book is accompanied by photographs.
