| Description | The author ponders on the specifics and pitfalls of engaging a concept of national literature in the contemporary literary studies. He illustrates his conclusions on the example of the old South Slavic literature. At the same time he advocates a comparative model of presenting the history of the older literary traditions of the South Slavs, within which a national principle does not figure as the touchstone of classification, but rather an object of critical analysis. |
