Description Malignant neoplasm of the brain is the 19th most common malignant neoplasm in the Czech population and the incidence of this disease is growing. Diagnosis and treatment strategies, especially postoperative, and relapse treatment must be determined by a multidisciplinary team, usually composed of a neurosurgeon, radiation and clinical oncologist, diagnostician and neurologist, and addressed with consideration of all risk factors, including the overall condition of the patient. The book is an illustrative example of such a multidisciplinary view of primary brain tumors. The authors of chapters who deal with diagnosis and treatment of brain tumors in their daily practice are among the top experts in their fields in the Czech and Slovak Republics. The first part of the book deals with standard procedures in the treatment of gliomas, the second one is the current trends in the treatment strategy. The text is richly supplemented with pictorial documentation, case reports and a separate part of the conclusions of working meetings (Glio meetings) from 2008-2012.
