| Description | The influence of EU law on the legal regulation of proceedings in foreign law is indisputable and relatively significant.2 Already, the conclusions from Tampere contained a statement that Community standards should, from a longer-term perspective, lead to a common asylum procedure and to a uniform status of those who are granted asylum, and proclaimed the necessity of the development of a common policy consisting in the fair treatment of third-country nationals and the management of migration flows.3 Article 61 of the Treaty establishing the European Community then explicitly states that to create an area of freedom, security and law, the Council will adopt measures in the area of asylum, immigration and the protection of the rights of nationals of third countries. |
