Description In 2018, ticks were collected by flagging in one of the city parks, Brno-Pisárky. The flagging was done from March to November, one hour a 1 week (2 weeks). The average number of collected ticks was 25 per hour. Altogether, 826 ticks were collected. Nymphs were dominant (70% of the collected individuals). Compared to 2016, when only 10.5 individuals per hour were captured, there is a large increase in the number of individuals collected. With the increase in the number of ticks on the site, the risk of transmitting pathogens to humans or other vertebrates increases. Between 1997 and 2002, the average prevalence of ticks with borrelia was 7%, now it is higher.
