| Description | Tocharian B lasto should be translated as “belonging to branches of a shrub”. Here two new alternative etymologies are offered: on the basis of Baltic *la(k)šta- “leaf” or with the help of Slavic *list7 “leaf”, plus a hypothetical Baltic *lišta(s), reconstructed on the basis of Fenno-Volgaic *lešte “leaf”. |
