Description The article deals with a little known story of Aloisie Bartošková, a Luleč weaver, who was investigated due to blackmailing and threatening with death to Jan Vladimír Pokorný, a German Reich Member of Parliament, in 1912. The cause, which was even passed to the Brno Provincial Penal Court, is a good example to examine what was perceived to be a political activity of women at that era. The case is also unique because it was not directly related to a feminist or labour movement, but to the Catholic environment. The author did not only deal with an analysis of the case file, but she also tried to reconstruct, using the period press and other archive sources, women activities within their cultural struggle on specific cases from the Vyškov district. This unusual case is therefore another step in the research of the relation of women and politics before 1914.
