| Description | This chapter deals with gender differences in attitudes towards work and in preferences of instrumental and self-realization attributes of work. The authors assume that male and female attitudes are conditioned by different socialization and also by possibilities and barriers in the labor market, which may be reflected in different preferences for various work attributes. This chapter emphasizes the diachronic comparison of the attitudes of Czech and Slovak men and women. Special attention is also paid to changes in traditional views on family and motherhood as the main self-realization domain for women. |
